Well, the Fitzbomb has been dropped. According to the indictment (choose either the 1MB PDF or the web-friendly alternative), "Scooter" Libby has been pimp-smacked with five charges: obstruction of justice (1 count), making false statements (2 counts) and perjury (2 counts) in the investigation of the outing of Valerie Plame's undercover identity. In response, Libby promptly resigned.
And while the big kahuna Karl Rove hasn't been indicted yet, he's still under investigation. The scuttlebutt is that Rove is under suspicion for perjury, but that his lawyers gave Fitzgerald some 11th-hour "clarifications" on why his apparent perjury isn't. My scant understanding of the legal aspects of this is that Fitzgerald can still hand out indictments if he feels they're warranted; MSNBC reports that the Rove portion of the investigation will be wrapped up in a few weeks.
(Vote: What happens to Karl Rove now?)
It should be interesting to see what the pundits make of the indictment, but there's one big plum already -- according to paragraph 9 on page 5 (emphasis mine),
Of course, the odds that Bush will actually have the cojones to demand a resignation from Cheney are right up there with the odds that Ann Coulter will admit that she's really a male transvestite on prime-time television. But there it is...
