Whoring myself out for hardcovers

Sometimes you just gotta say "what the fig"...

For all us Terry Pratchet fans out there, Hill House Publishers is offering a limited-edition run of facsimile books for the first 12 Discworld novels. These are painstaking recreations of the original hardcovers, including the ultra-rare first edition of The Color of Magic and the ultra-ultra-rare illustrated edition of Eric. Throw in two exclusive autographed "behind the scenes" books, and this is (to mix fandoms here) the Discworld equivalent of 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Convoy (mine is still MISB! Grinning smiley).

Of course, there's a catch -- the entire run of 12 volumes costs $420, payable in two installments of $210 each. On the plus side, that's only $35 per volume, as opposed to buying them separately for $40 each. And you get free shipping.

As I've been slowly replacing my collection of Discworld novels with hardcovers (and UK-edition hardcovers with Josh Kirby art, no less), this deal was (almost) a must-buy no-brainer for me. Admittedly, it's not cheap, but sometimes you gotta say "what the fig"...
