Y'know, Dick, this stuff might have been cute in 2003 or 2004, but after four freakin' years, it's simply pathetic:
US Vice-President Dick Cheney has repeated his assertion that the al-Qaeda network had links with Iraq before the US-led invasion of 2003.
Mr Cheney told a US radio show: "They were present before we invaded Iraq."
Hours earlier, a declassified Pentagon report said information obtained from Iraq's former leader Saddam Hussein had confirmed they had no strong ties.
...The newly declassified Pentagon report was based on interrogations of Saddam Hussein and two of his aides, as well as documents seized in Iraq.
I think we need to get some folks together to invent a new word for this level of reality-denying resistance. Ordinary terms like "insistent," "obstinate," "persistent," and "bull-headed" just can't cut it any more. This is a level of stupidity that would make even Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf tell Cheney to turn it down a few notches.
On the plus side, I'm fully supporting the recent efforts of some right-wing loonies (redundant, I know) to draft Dick Cheney to run for the presidency in 2008 -- with his reality-denying rhetoric and ookie Palpatine-like visage, the Democrats could run Carrot Top as their candidate and still win a landslide!
Even better, make it a Cheney-McCain ticket...
