Long-time readers of this blog will know that I am an unabashed Pixar junkie. Long-time readers of this blog will also know that I have not been innundating folks with updates on Pixar's next upcoming movie, Ratatouille, which opens in a little over a month. This is not due to any problems with the film preventing my fanboy enthusiasm from going into overdrive, but simply because I have been so busy that I've unintentionally kept myself out of the loop on the latest movie news.
To make up for that, I'll direct you to Stephane Kardos' blog, where he's put up four of his movie poster concept art pieces for Ratatouille. Appropriately enough, they're done in a early 1920s French art style, and will ultimately be used for "consumer products" (read: toys and tie-ins). Even better, if you click on Stef's thumbnails, you'll get nifty jumbo-sized images, which you can print out and use to decorate your cubicle as desired. I can't see how anyone can complain about free faux nouveau art -- unless you're some sort of crazed francophile, anyway.
P.S. In a completely unrelated matter, Todd Alcott has a spoiler-loaded poke at Spider-Man 3 that's worth a few minutes to read. I enjoyed the movie, but that doesn't mean I can't also enjoy Todd's skewering of Mary Jane Watson's roller-coaster career in the film...
