You're not supposed to encourage the stupid stereotypes!

[Updated August 28, 10:10am] Tempting as it may be, I usually try to refrain from making too many jokes on the "dumb southerner" stereotypes. Sure, it's a cheap shot to make jokes about inbred families or trigger-happy hicks who pronounce "oil" with three syllables, but I'm usually enough of a sensitive librul-type to remember that there are real folks who live in the southern United States and shouldn't be collectively tarred with the same brush.

(Of course, I have no problems giggling along when my friends down south make those jokes... my sensibilities can only go so far.)

On the other hand... it's past 1:00am here, and this piece of real-world southern stupidity is just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too tempting to pass along.
