Yes, they really ARE that crazy

As if you needed more evidence that American conservatives are batshit insane...

This week's turd of nutsy-cuckooness comes from Family Security Matters, a front group for the Center for Security Policy (CSP), a conservative Washington think tank. These are the folks who still think George W. Bush is doing a "heckuva job," and that the other 76% of the nation who feel otherwise are disloyal Al-Qaeda-loving traitors.

Anyway, FSM has just released their list of "10 Most Dangerous Organizations in America". And as you might imagine, the list is almost entirely a Who's Who of organizations who haven't quaffed the neoconservative Favor-Aid:

Frankly, I'm surprised they had the cojones to put two real "dangerous organizations" on their list -- though I'd rank the Family Research Council higher than League of the South, myself. Did the FRC not pay their annual dues, guys?

The rest of it, however, it straight out of the Bad Stereotypical Right-Wing Lunatics Enemies List Handbook™. Naming Think Progress, Code MoveOn.org, PINK, and Media Matters were no-brainers for them, as those groups have been effective at fighting the right-wing noise machine. The Muslim Student Association were doubtlessly picked simply for having the word "Muslim" in their name, and conservatives railing against the ACLU is a joke that was old when Richard Nixon was in diapers.

The funniest entry on the list for me is #2 -- "Universities and colleges." Note that the FSM loonies aren't opposing a particular university or college, but rather the overall concept of higher education itself. Smiley with tongue Grinning smiley

I can imagine the reasoning from the members of the FSM (or, rather, their CSP puppetmasters) already: "We can't have people going off to college and getting educated! Then they might actually get exposed to new ideas and realize the stuff we've been pushing is bullshit! How much educating do these proles need to work a cash register, anyway?"

But yeah -- Family Security Matters = Center for Security Policy = right-wing Bush-loving idiots = BATSHIT INSANE. As if you actually needed proof...
