Story
Somewhere in the galaxy, several unseen beings are discussing recent events with the Transformers. The most prominent of this is the reawakening of Unicron, who is now already feeding on hapless planets and en route to Earth. It has also begun producing new warriors, ones more powerful than its predecessors.
This segues into a discussion of the previous wave. The initial fleet had been sent to search the cosmos for Cybertron, and the dormant planet was found by the alpha drone, Scourge, several million years ago. Scourge secretly re-activated Shockwave to study him, but eventually was forced to reveal his own presence. Shockwave captured Scourge soon afterwards and dissected him, gaining extensive knowledge of Cybertron's origins.
It is uncertain, but the triumvirate believe Scourge is currently on Earth, along with several other Transformers, being studied by the humans. The only free Transformers presently on Earth are the small team of Autobots secretly left behind when the others were taken back to Cybertron (see issue 2 of the War and Peace limited series). Optimus Prime is currently on Cybertron, weakened after recent events.
Finally, the report notes that Megatron remains missing, but this is seen as an inconsequental matter; he will be found, and brought forth for judgement -- by the Quintessons.
Elsewhere, on the planet of Junk, Wreck-Gar sings merrily to himself as he drags the broken body of a Decepticon home to his master. Though Wreck-Gar is chided for calling him "honey," he is also complimented for his diligence, and Megatron begins his plans for revenge...
Notes and Comments
- This series continues soon after the events of the War and Peace limited series.
- The destruction of Lithone is taken from Transformers: The Movie, including an aborted version of the line, "Look, Arblus! It's Unicron!"
