Story
Somewhere in the Arctic, two men covered with parkas trudge through the snow and sleet and cold. The lead man, named Lazarus, listens in stoic silence while the other, Mr. Ratzenberg, complains about the weather, and wondering what Lazarus has to offer that's worth the inconvenience. When Ratzenberg begins to threaten to withdraw from his $2.5 million business deal, Lazarus brings him down with an arm-twist and earns the man's silence.
Resuming their hike, Lazarus begins to tell a story about a race of mighty gladiators with powers beyond mortal men. While a team of explorers begins excavating something buried beneath the snow, Lazarus waxes poetic about the warriors' abilities to transform, of how wonderful it could be if humanity could interact with them, and the advantages they could give to any of their human allies.
When Ratzenberg asks for more clarification, Lazarus points to the excavation site, where the half-buried body of Soundwave lies.
Notes and Comments
- Lazarus' implications that humanity had little knowledge and interaction with the Transformers is contradicted by the first issue of the Dreamwave comic book series.
- The preview comic contains sixteen pages all together. It has six pages of comics (summarized above), seven pages of various sketches and art pieces, and various in-house advertisements.
