2004 - Robot Masters

Introduced in 2004, Robot Masters is a line of miniaturized Transformers toys, approximately five inches (14cm) tall. Some are recolored versions of existing toys (such as the Transformers: Generation 2 Cyberjets and Transformers: Machine Wars vehicles), while others are newly re-mastered versions of classic Transformers toys. The characters themselves are from a cross-selection of Transformers history, freely mixing American, Japanese, Beast Wars, and other lineages.

While there wasn't a dedicated anime or manga for Robot Masters, each major wave of toys included a booklet with an ongoing comic book, and Takara periodically released new pages on their web site. In addition, some of the deluxe toys include promotional DVDs, featuring character profiles, commercials, and animated clips.
